SEASONAL

Summerlin Nights
This event includes all of our Church campuses inviting the community to worship, hear the word from a guest speaker, and enjoy food/outdoor activities.

Backpack Drive
Our church comes together and partners with Simmons Elementary to provide backpacks for kids in need.

Fall Festival
We open up our church property to a huge festival in October to anyone in the community. There is candy, trunks decorated, food, prizes, and much more!

Thanksgiving Communion Service
We partner with a non-profit called Serving Our Kids Foundation by doing a food drive for Thanksgiving.

Christmas in ACTion
We partner with a non-profit called Olive Crest, who provides us with the names of families in the community who need extra help getting presents for their kids or teens that have aged out of the foster care system. Individuals in our church buy presents for a child that the parent(s) is able to give them on Christmas.

Please contact us if you’re interested in volunteering or donating.

AT HOME

Care bags are made to help the homeless population in Las Vegas. Listed below are items that you can include in your care bag. There are also tips on delivering your care bag(s). All of this information comes from the
Las Vegas Rescue Mission

You can create bags to hand out yourself or drop them off at Shadow Hills Church Admin Building. Office Hours Mon-Thurs. 9-5 pm

ITEMS TO INCLUDE

A typical Care Bag consists of a watertight gallon-size zipper-lock plastic bag filled with items like:

  • Water bottle
  • Socks
  • Tuna and crackers
  • Granola Bar or cereal bar
  • Fruit snack or applesauce cup
  • Crackers with peanut butter or cheese
  • Gift certificate to fast food
  • Hand wipes
  • Pack of Kleenex
  • Maxi pads
  • Toothbrush and toothpaste
  • Nail clippers
  • Band Aids
  • Chapstick
  • Comb or small brush
  • Mints, cough drops or gum
  • Mini Fliers with ways the Mission can meet their needs
  • Note of encouragement or uplifting Bible verse

WHEN YOU GIVE CARE BAGS AWAY…

  • Don’t be in a hurry. It’s okay to slip it out your window to someone on a street corner or freeway ramp. But consider taking time to park the car and hand-deliver it.
  • Smile. This person probably gets ignored by hundreds of people every day.
  • Make eye contact. It shows that the person matters.
  • Don’t give money. It’s your decision, of course, but we generally discourage giving cash. Instead, ask what their immediate need is and consider how you can help. Buy them a meal? A bus ticket?
  • Be available to have a conversation. Some people won’t want to talk, so be sensitive. Others will be delighted to tell you their story.
  • Pray. Before you go, while you go, for the people you encounter. Ask the person if they would like you to pray for them right there.
  • Offer resources. Direct the person to the Las Vegas Rescue Mission.
  • Be wise. The majority of homeless men and women are not dangerous — they’re people just like you. But it’s smart to go out as a group when handing out Care Bags.
  • Inspire others. Share your story of handing out Care Bags with us!

Please contact us if you’re interested in volunteering or donating.

It’s On Us is a program that we created to help members in our church who are widows, single parents, first responders, and/or members who may experience death or health-related issue in their family. We care for our church family and want to be there in times of hardship.

This outreach was created to provide a meal to whoever is in need! If you are wanting to be a part of providing families with a meal or have any questions please email reagan@liberatechurch.org to put your name on the contact list.

We love encouraging others with our words through letters and prayers! Below, you will find a number of groups that our church partners with. We challenge you to write letters or pray for one or more of these groups. Please drop your letters off at Shadow Hills Church Admin Building. Office Hours Mon-Thurs. 9-5 pm.
