MISSIONS

Here at The Hills, we like to say that the church is not a building, but rather, it's the people of God, living out the mission of God, by the grace of God, for the glory of God. We are the hands and feet of Jesus both here in Las Vegas and around the world.

ALL FOR HIS GLORY

LOCAL OUTREACH

We partner with the Serving our Kids Foundation to help feed and meet the needs of Clark County homeless and at-risk children. Currently, we serve more than 700-weekend lunches to 13 local elementary schools in our neighborhood every Friday. You can make a difference by giving to missions or helping us pack and deliver these lunches.

We partner with Child Evangelism Fellowship® and have the great privilege of teaching after-school Bible clubs, called Good News Club®, in 9 local elementary schools here in Las Vegas. Clubs are held weekly for approximately one hour and include a Bible verse, Bible story, games, songs, and snacks. You can help by teaching or being an assistant to these children.

Our ladies gather together each week to give their time and talents to create items such as blankets, hats, washcloths, scarves, pillows, quilts, and dolls for those in need. Each item is imprinted with the truth, “Jesus Loves You.”

Every Tuesday afternoon, there is a homeless community group for our homeless neighbors. Everyone is invited for an interactive Bible study, a homemade meal, and a place to belong. During that time, we also prepare sack lunches and deliver them to other homeless friends in the community and invite them back for next Tuesday's community group.

Visit our Outreach page for more information.

CHURCH PLANTING

One of the best ways we can love God and love others is by planting new churches. Churches help declare and demonstrate the power of the gospel in each community. We are committed to planting churches here in our own city, as well as in strategic cities all around the world.

Reconciled Church

Las Vegas, Nevada

Kev and Shannon Gemmer are planting a brand new church in the South Summerlin area. Pastor Kev was on staff at our Summerlin campus for several years as High School Pastor, and then he served as a church planting apprentice through our Liberate North campus. Pray for the Gemmers as they plant this new church here in Las Vegas.

Storyline Church

Oakland, California

On September 15, 2019, Akeem and Jaime Smith launched Storyline Church. Pastor Akeem likes to say that “we are not defined by our color, creed, or background, but defined by a passion for God, life, people, and for the story God is writing in your life.” Pray for Storyline as they build this new, life-giving church in the Oakland area.

FOREIGN MISSIONS

La Chapelle

Montreal, Canada

With nearly 2 million people in Montreal, less than 1 percent even attends a gospel-believing church. But despite widespread lostness, La Chapelle has seen more than 500 adults saved and baptized and 3 churches started in just a few short years! Josiah and Deby are preparing to plant a fourth new church in early 2020.

Refugees

Italy

We support a team of missionaries who are bringing the Gospel to Muslim refugees that have migrated to Italy. They organize sporting events and even parties to bring the refugees together so they can show them how much they are loved and cared for not just by the team serving out there, but by Jesus. The work in Italy is so very important and something that Shadow Hills Church is honored to be a part of.

The Puentes

Spain

Since 2012, Francisco and Rebekeh have planted three churches in three different districts of the city of Sevilla. Their goal is to continue to offer leadership training and some oversight to the three existing churches with the goal of continuing to plant more churches in Sevilla. Sevilla has a population of 700,000 with 1 gospel-preaching church for every 58,333 people.

The Mundos

Mexico City

Luis and Yolanda have served at “Rey de Reyes” Baptist Church for 28 years, at Cuernavaca (a city, located 1:45 hrs., South of Mexico City) Their church reaches people for Jesus through Sunday services and summer vacation Bible schools. Pray for them as they continue to spread the Gospel. Mexico has nearly 120 million people and is 85% Catholic.
